Bailiwick Bar & Grill

Located in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego, Bailiwick took over an existing ground floor 2,500 sf restaurant within an historic mixed-used building.  The owners of Bailiwick wanted to provide a light and comfortable environment, emulating their founded roots of southern hospitality. The façade was changed to a completely white exterior - modest, welcoming, and something refreshing from the dark pallet often found in the Gaslamp.  Continuing inside, the space underwent drastic changes with new seating and circulatory layout, softened accent lighting, and hues of white and blue. Every detail was customized for the patron - from unique bar stools and large communal built-in folding tables to dazzling chandeliers.  Other work included improvements to the outdoor patio, extensive remodel of the kitchen and bar area, new dry storage room in the basement, major electrical and plumbing work, custom fabricated sliding step ladder and bar shelving system, new booth seating, and a new hvac system.  Bailiwick opened for business in January 2013.
